Meet Our Founder: Miriam Hernandez’s Journey in Real Estate
ELC Real Estate, a residential brokerage, was established in June 2013, the primary goal, to assist the community to build wealth by investing in home ownership; provide guidance to homeowners that want to sell, or buyers that need guidance with their first purchase.

Born and raised in New York City, relocated to Rochester, NY, to pursue a career change, as a single mother of two, it was highly important to secure gainful employment; graduated with a Bachelors degree in Social Work at State University of New York, at Brockport. After 11 years of providing social services in many levels, decided to embrace the opportunity to escape the cold weather, and traveled to Florida to visit some friends; searched employment possibilities and accepted a position with The Florida Department of Children and Families, Child Protection Unit.
In1993, became acquainted with people in the real estate industry, and embraced a new career option for the near future, by obtaining a real estate license from Gold Coast School of Real Estate. While employed full-time, continue to assist home buyers, and sellers with their needs, and transitioned to Miami-Dade County Department of Human Services;
Provided case management at the Elderly Services Division, case management to families with children at risk of juvenile court involvement, in the Delinquency Prevention Unit; provided assessments to children ages 1-5 yrs, to determine school readiness, and referred for further services, according to their level of need, at the Child Development Services Unit; last but not least, provided advocacy, and support to victims of domestic violence, at the Advocates for Victims shelter.

Opted for an early retirement from government services, obtained a broker license, and established ELC Real Estate in June 2013; what better way to provide assistance than to provide home ownership
awareness as a path for further empowerment, and opportunity to build wealth.

Eternally grateful for the ongoing love, and support from my husband, my daughters, and grandchildren; recently became a great grandmother, and looking forward to establishing a bond with him, as well.
